On the night of 23rd of June 2012 London will host Velonotte, to open the London Festival of Architecture. Velonotte will transform the East End into an open-air museum guided by star architects and cultural historians, including Peter Ackroyd, Richard Rogers, Ricky Burdett, Peter Murray and David Adjaye. This unforgettable night will explore the great urban landscapes and their ancient and modern histories: from St. Paul to Hitchcock, from Dickens to Olympics, from Bolsheviks to Blitz kids, culminating with a 20 piece orchestra greeting the dawn as the riders arrive at Canary Wharf.

The moonlit bike tour will set off at 23.30 from St. Paul's Cathedral, taking cyclists through the London City, Whitechapel, Spitalfields, Tower of Hamlets, Poplar and Newham unraveling the story of London’s architecture, history and cultural life. The guides will narrate the tour via the radio, Resonance FM 104,4 FM. All one would do is save the date, register on the site below, bring a bike and radio headsets to tune in along the way to short talks at particular locations, soundscapes and music.

London Velonotte is a part of international series (Rome, St Petersburg, New York, Moscow), watch its previous edition 2011 with 5000 riders: www.vimeo.com/26550427
