American architect James Timberlake of KieranTimberlake, will be the keynote speaker at the Prototyping Architecture conference on 21-23 February.
KieranTimberlake are noted for fusing research & development with design with a strong interest in sustainability, prefabrication and new technologies. Marrying innovative production with craft James Timberlake will introduce key projects from the practice portfolio such as the SmartWrap Pavilion and the Loblolly House, one of the key exhibits in the Prototyping Architecture exhibition.
In 2010 KieranTimberlake were appointed architects for the new US London Embassy in Nine Elms. Described by James Timberlake as ‘the project of a lifetime… as good as it gets,’ the 11 storey building is designed to be entirely performative the architects suggested at competition stage that the building should aspire for the top LEED, BREEAM and EPC ratings. The building is scheduled to commence on site this year and complete in 2017.
