The Building Exploratory is a unique organisation that explores buildings and the built environment, based within the local community yet relevant to visitors everywhere.

The Building Exploratory’s exhibition – currently closed for re-development until 2012 – consists of many exhibits made through art projects with local people. In previous years, 70% of Hackney Schools took part in their education and arts programmes, and thousands of local residents joined workshops and public tours.

The Building Exploratory is now widely recognised as a replicable model of national significance.
