Planning in London

Established in 1980 following an all-party inquiry into the development control system, it comprises representatives from the Government Office for London (including the ODPM), English Heritage and the Environment Agency; the Association of Consultant Architects, the British Property Federation, the Confederation for British Industry, the House Builders Federation, the London Housing Federation, the London Chambers of Commerce & Industry, the RIBA, RICS, RTPI and ACA; the Association of London Government, ALBPO, CABE, LoTAG, TfL, the London Forum of amenity societies and the Greater London Authority.

Affiliated members are UCL London University (The Bartlett), Planning Aid for London, Berkely Group plc and DTZ Peida Consulting. Recent new members are the City Architecture Forum and the London planning lawyers; UDAL is considering membership.

The Forum reports its views directly to its constituent bodies, including central Government, and to the National Planning Forum. The forum meets quarterly and meetings are open for visitors who are asked to advise the Secretary in advance: robplan@btconnect.com.
