South London Gallery

The South London Gallery is one of London's best-loved spaces for contemporary art showing a changing programme of exhibitions, live art, film and off-site projects. The SLG was established in 1891 as a 'gallery for the people of South London open to the public free, and on Sundays' and has become famous in recent years for showing the work of Turner Prize nominees and winners such as Gilbert & George, Steve McQueen, Simon Starling and Goshka Maçuga and was first to show Tracey Emin’s infamous tent, 'Everyone I have ever slept with'.

The SLG is currently expanding to create a café, further exhibition spaces, a state-of-the art education studio and flat for a programme of artist residencies.
